Ask The Experts About Internet Selling

Robert asks…

I have to make an ad for selling cds on the internet, what should i do?

3. Make up an advertisement to promote the use of the Internet to sell CD’s. Think of an “e-commerce way” of getting the message across the public. Or, your advertisement could take the form of a print ad, a poster (which I’m doing), or a script for a TV commercial.

admin answers:

You want to have both if possible (non web and web ads.) If limited in cash do web only because if you selling on the web, your buyers are the type to surf the net.

Good choices if limited in cash: radio and web.

To make an ad:
#1 what is your message. Just one thing you want to say, the reason they should buy.
#2 the ad must be attractive because people are drowning in a pool of ads and don’t really pay attention.
#3 make it simple and pretty to look at. You want people to get the message quickly.

As for e-commerce. You want to put as many links out there that point to your site. Ideally pick sites that your type of consumers would go to. You can also buy a spot on the google search engines. You buy your space according to the word you want to buy. I.e: every time people type “CD” you want your site to pop up first. You also want your web page to be programmed with meta tags that help your site to pop up on search engines. More people visit the more chances you have to get a sale.

Last, your site must be updated often, well built, easy to read and to surf. Make it easy for customers to buy, ask the minimum info required. Build a customer data base to send promotion to develop loyalty.

Good luck.
